The Quest Seeker - Summer Reading Challenge 2009

The 2009 Summer Reading Challenge will be the 11th annual challenge and children will be invited to embark on a fantastical adventure and become a Quest Seeker.

The theme is all about the power of the imagination.  It will take young readers into a mysterious and wondrous land where they can discover the joy of reading and nurture a life-long love affair with books.  It also promotes the library as a place of wonder and excitement, where librarians can offer children invaluable advice and guidance to help them through their quest.

Book Quest focuses on three young readers, Raj, Belle and Louis.  When they open a dust old book they discover in a library, they are hurtled headlong into a parallel world of amazing creatures, dangerous missions and unusual characters as they set off on an exciting, adventurous quest.  Despatched by Cadmus, the Gatekeeper, and ably assisted by a colourful cast, our young quest seekers venture forth to complete three testing tasks: Firebird Rising, Mountain Mission and Dragon’s Lair.
